Description
PACIFICA GT-400 Pottery Wheel w/PAN, Legs, Tools, LOOK    This has been very hard for me to list but I've decided it is time. My husband was struck down (see my about me page) in 2002 with a huge brain bleed that eventually led to his death in 2005.  He had done pottery 20 years previously and I purchased this wheel for him new at Laguna Clay when he was in rehab to help him get his left arm back as he had a deficit in the arm.  I purchased all the tools, the leg extensions, the wheel that will go either way, clay, plaster of paris to make bats, and everything so he could maybe exercise his arm by throwing once again.   Although he could still throw a pot, he said it was too hard.  The wheel was used for a total of no more than 2 hours.  It has been sitting here in my kitchen for all this time because I thought at some time I might want to throw again as well (I did in college too).  But I don't think I'll ever have the time to relearn the craft, so I've decided that I should go ahead and sell the wheel and all the tools. There are bats, several sponges, the wheel, leg extensions (the screw is missing on one of the legs but any screw that size can be purchase for a few pennies at the hardware), and a new gallon jug of plaster of Paris.  In other words EVERYTHING for you to get set up to throw pots!  I paid $900.00 for all the equipment (and clay which is not included) when I purchased it.  I can NOT ship this as I have a bad back and can't pick it up to pack it.  It will have to be picked up.  I can help you load it but I just can't get it packed.  This would be a fantastic gift for an art student or for someone who is starting out in the wonderful world of pottery.  It has never been out of my kitchen, and again, has no more than 2 hours time on it.  I talked to several potters and this was the wheel that everyone suggested I purchase.  I had clay but it dried up several years ago, sorry!  The clay can be purchased locally to the Columbus market or you can dig and sieve your own along a lot of the river banks in our area. I live 20 miles east of Columbus Ohio.  This will fit in a car easily. This is a buy it now purchase for much less than you will find anywhere else.  These are the statistics on the wheel from Laguna Clay: (retail $799.99) Description   Pacifica Pottery Wheels: PACIFICA GT-400 WHEEL W/SPLASH PAN• Quiet: A superior quad-belt drive system, two stages of motor vibrationisolation, and a large electronic capacitor make the PACIFICA only “whisper”under rigorous conditions.• Smooth: Pacifica’s custom designed load sensor increases the power fromthe motor in exact proportion to the load on the wheel head. Wheel headspeed remains constant from 300 RPM down to very slow trimming speeds.• Powerful: The GT 400 develops over 1/2 hp, enough to center 80 lbs. of clay. For potters throwing extraordinarily large work, the GT 800 develops over 1 hpand can center over 100 lbs.• The Magic Pedal: Magnetic controls allow minute adjustments to wheel headspeed. Cast aluminum housing is flex-free, stable, smooth and well balanced.• 2 Piece Durable Splash Pan: Included with every wheel, it’s rugged andeasy to remove for cleaning.• Reversing: Toggle switch mounted on Control Box.• Circuit Breaker: Push button; no inconvenient fuses.• Steel Frame: Heavy duty welded construction with 3 widely spaced legs -stable and virtually indestructible.• Tabletop: Spacious molded tabletop cleans up easily and provides large workarea.• Easy Repair: The modular construction allows quick and easy replacement ofparts down the road - whether it be the motor, a belt, or the electronic controlbox.• UL Listed: For both the U.S. and Canada. The Leg extensions: (retail $39.00) Four Bats:  (retail $18.00) Sponges:  (retail $5.00) Pottery Tool Kit (retail $16.95) Plaster of Paris ($7.00) (be aware that the pottery wheels that are offered on the internet do NOT have the leg extensions and without them, you can't use the wheel as it is only  12 inches tall!) Thanks for looking and I hope this goes to someone who will use and enjoy the wheel for many years to come!           Most eBay customers think that the majority of eBay Stores are too expensive (and I happen to agree!).  My eBay Store is NOT!  I don't add items to park them, but to SELL them.  Therefore my prices are competitive to the eBay marketplace or BELOW!  Please visit my eBay Store for great items and GREAT DEALS!    For all my Terms of Service (TOS) and shipping, packaging, and other information, please click here! Note on antique Glass:  Most old and antique glass will have things like straw marks, tiny  areas of roughness or mold issues that makes one spot a bit uneven from another.  This is not normally described in my listings because this is considered normal.  Wear on the bottom of glass is normal as well and is generally not mentioned.    I am conducting a survey of ebay buyers!   I would appreciate you taking the survey!  It will not take more than 2 minutes. Click Here to take the survey! INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS, PLEASE NOTE! Although I do offer First Class Mail International, it is taking up to a month to get to some locations.  I will no longer offer this on any item purchased over $25.00 due to the length of time this service is taking and the lack of insurance.  Please read the Terms of Service link above for requirements for bidding and paying (paypal only for International).   If you don't want to wait until the auction ends, contact me with a Buy It Now offer and if it is acceptable, I will add it to the auction and you can purchase immediately! No reasonable Buy It Now offers are ever refused!  If there is already a bid on the item, I will not consider a buy it now as that's not fair to the customer who has made a bid.  Otherwise I will add the Buy It Now for you!
