Description
EuroArt-Trading              Welcome to Euro Art Trading which promotes beautiful and original hand-made works of art coming directly from Europe. We explore the most fascinating regions of Europe to offer you unique products of the old time manufactures. One of those wonderful, quaint regions is Warmia and Mazury located in the north-eastern Poland, formerly known as East Prussia. Here, among undulating fields and crystal-clear lakes, its inhabitants have built their summer residences surrounded by the stunning gardens and parks giving them peace and quiet and a sense of security. And here, in the 18th century, a marvelous Palace in Nakomiady arose for whose needs a ceramics manufacture making bricks from local clay has been established soon.              Our collection is composed with nine miniature stoves serving as chandeliers. We also offer candlesticks and decorative ceramic tails. New to our collection will be the big stoves, the reconstructions of the old time palace originals, which we plan to introduce to you in a close future. Each product is hand painted, kept in coloristic specific for its times.  Each of them has its own name and is a true copy of a big historical original. The production process using traditional techniques is very time-consuming and takes a month to finish one miniature.               Our products perfectly compose with the warm house interiors and can serve as peculiar and unforgettable gifts.           We are the only distributor of this product in USA Visit us at www.euroarttrading.com THE ITEM OF THIS AUCTION IS: Cylindrical Stove - Stolno Manor - library, mid-XIX.   History            The Stolno estate has been owned by the von Kuenheim family for over 500 years. Representatives of this family came here in 1445 from Upper Lorraine and faithfully server the Teutonic Order, which successively granted them various villages over the years.             During the mid-XIX century, amid a park with picturesque ponds, enchanted by the magic of the bordering Pasłęka River, the Kuenheims erected a late classicist manor. Not far away, a path lined with trees was planted, leading to five Bronze Era burial mounds, where the family cemetery was established.             At the beginning of the XX century, one of the von Kuenheim family members was sent to the city in order to purchase parts required to connect the estate to the newly constructed electrical power network. Putting the efficiency and prosperity of the hereditary estate over mere personal convenience, he purchased another flock of sheep instead, leaving Stolno for many long months in the twilight of candles, instead of the bright light of incandescent bulbs.             The favorite place of the Kuenheims was the library, where a manually decorated cylindrical stove was installed. During winter evenings, it warmed the chilled hands of household members, reading the annals of family history.
