Description
EuroArt-Trading Welcome to Euro Art Trading which promotes beautiful and original hand-made works of art coming directly from Europe. We explore the most fascinating regions of Europe to offer you unique products of the old time manufactures. One of those wonderful, quaint regions is Warmia and Mazury located in the north-eastern Poland, formerly known as East Prussia. Here, among undulating fields and crystal-clear lakes, its inhabitants have built their summer residences surrounded by the stunning gardens and parks giving them peace and quiet and a sense of security. And here, in the 18th century, a marvelous Palace in Nakomiady arose for whose needs a ceramics manufacture making bricks from local clay has been established soon. Our collection is composed with nine miniature stoves serving as chandeliers. We also offer candlesticks and decorative ceramic tails. New to our collection will be the big stoves, the reconstructions of the old time palace originals, which we plan to introduce to you in a close future. Each product is hand painted, kept in coloristic specific for its times. Each of them has its own name and is a true copy of a big historical original. The production process using traditional techniques is very time-consuming and takes a month to finish one miniature. Our products perfectly compose with the warm house interiors and can serve as peculiar and unforgettable gifts. We are the only distributor of this product in USA Visit us at www.euroarttrading.com THE ITEM OF THIS AUCTION IS: Besia Palace - Classicist Stove, Salon, XIX century. History The Palace in Bęsia (in German:Banses) was built in 1720 – 1730 and it’s side wings were added during the XIX century, but it continuously changed it’s owners. The lands of the estate itself, as early as the XVI century suffered from the lack of a charismatic owner, who would keep a firm grip on everything. In 1527 Stanisław Ozarow, a nobleman from Mazowsze, tried his hand. However, he quickly sold the estate to Krzysztof Wantek, the Count from Reszel. The next owner was the nobleman Jan Bika. The estate subsequently was acquired by the administrations of Reszel – von Pequilhen and von Knobloch. Beginning of 1915 untill the end of 1945, it was owned by the Stockhausen family. Old legends refer to a curse cast here by the original Prussian inhabitants during the XIII century, who were butchered by colonists clad in iron, purportedly seeking to convert them to the new faith. Maybe this is the reason, why nobody has been able to stay in here very long. It was von Knobloch who commissioned the stove in the salon near the end of the XIX century from a master stove builder from Reszel. The stove became a manifesto, supporting local craftsmen and producers in their fight for economic survival against the flood of products from the stove and tile manufacturing area in Welten near Berlin.
