Description
"The Shagster" sheep focal bead. This bead was featured in the June 2008 issue of Bead & Button magazine as a step-by-step project. Although he's having a b-a-a-a-a-d hair day, he's not letting that get him down!Ok, there's a story to this bead - even before he became part of a magazine article. Late last year, several folks from my yahoo chat group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/cforiginals/) were waiting late into the night for Lisa Pavelka's Polymer Clay Paradise Cruise registration to open (limited number of spots, ya know and they didn't want to get left out). Well, it got later and later (there were some glitches with the site that were taking a while to work out) so I decided that some sort of diversion was needed, and we came up with a little challenge -- I was at home at the time and for some reason fussing with some old dishrag (who knows why), and started picking at the shredded edge, making a mess of little threads - hmmmmm, looks furry... so a sheep occurred with the bits of dishrag fluff added. Seemed like a good clay activity ("what can you do with dishrag bits and polymer clay"), so we had a little impromptu "dishrag challenge". The evening passed with the dishrag activity, the site uploaded, everyone signed up and the cruise followed in the spring and we all had a groovy old time. The shaggy sheep went on to become an article, and that's the end of that.
